Type of Cold Room: Insulated Enclosure

A large-scale, floorless, insulated enclosure specifically designed to house specialist humidity control systems and accommodate heavy forklift access for large-scale plant cultivation.

  • Style: Insulated Enclosure

  • Dimensions: Overall size 18000mm x 9000mm x 3500mm high.

  • Insulation: 150mm PIR walls and ceilings.

  • Doors: 1 x 2500mm x 3000mm clear opening (c/o) sliding door with a Fermod track and manual furniture, designed to be fully forklift-suitable.

Client Requirement

Gardener’s Kitchen is the largest supplier of vegetable plants to the garden centre industry in the United Kingdom. As part of an expansion, they required a food-safe, insulated grow room in which they would be fitting their own humidity control systems.

Our Solution

Throughout various discussions, including site visits, and with the customer’s specific input regarding the size of the room required to house the current plants, whilst also allowing room for future growth, we were able to agree upon and supply a massive 18m x 9m x 3.5m high floorless enclosure. Constructed using 150mm PIR panels, the enclosure was finished with a forklift-suitable manual sliding door to ensure highly practical, everyday use.
