Client Requirement
KPMG’s catering operation at Canada Square needed additional storage alongside the site’s main provision, giving dedicated space for overflow and back-up stock. Working in this environment meant planning around more than the room dimensions: security clearance requirements, difficult Canary Wharf logistics and restricted windows for both deliveries and installation shaped how the work could be carried out.
Our Solution
The delivery and installation arrangements were aligned with the site’s permitted access periods. Bringing the rooms, refrigeration and internal fittings together required coordination around those restrictions, with preparation before arrival an important part of making the available working windows count. The KPMG works demonstrate Scandia’s experience of delivering cold storage within a security-controlled corporate environment: the rooms addressed the storage requirement, while the delivery and installation approach accounted for the limited access windows and location. For facilities teams and catering contractors, the ability to work within a building’s access requirements is a key part of selecting a coldroom supplier.
