A focused door replacement renewing the doorway within an existing insulated freezer room, with a new heated frame, insulated door and aluminium protection.

Specifications

  • Project Type: Replacement of an insulated hinged freezer door and frame.
  • Scope: Safe disconnection and removal of the existing door and frame, preparation of the opening and installation of the replacement assembly through the existing insulated wall face.
  • Door: 80mm PIR insulated core, anodised aluminium capping, white food-safe finish to both faces.
  • Frame & Hardware: Plant-on heated aluminium frame, Fermod hinges and a locking handle with internal release.
  • Protection: Aluminium treadplate kickplates to both sides of the door and a new aluminium treadplate threshold step.

Client Requirement

The freezer room at Texaco’s Galleys Roundabout Service Station needed its worn insulated hinged door and frame renewed, while retaining the surrounding enclosure.

Our Solution

The works focused on the door assembly. Scandia removed the existing door and frame, prepared the opening and installed the replacement through the existing insulated wall face. The new assembly has a white finish, new hardware and prominent lower-door protection, demonstrating how a focused door replacement can renew an existing coldroom entrance. For retailers and refrigeration contractors, this provides a practical example of renewing a coldroom component while retaining the surrounding enclosure.
