Working alongside a regular shop-fitting partner, Scandia was commissioned to manufacture and install a high-specification, durable back-of-house cold storage solution for a Spar store roll-out in Liverpool.

Type of Cold Room: Dual Compartment (Chiller & Freezer)

A highly durable, equal-split chiller and freezer room designed specifically for back-of-house retail storage and heavy trolley usage.

Specifications

  • Style: Dual Compartment measuring 2000mm x 4000mm x 2300mm overall.

  • Freezer Dimensions: 2000mm x 2000mm x 2300mm

  • Chiller Dimensions: 2000mm x 2000mm x 2300mm

  • Insulation & Finish: 80mm PIR throughout with a white food-safe PVC laminate finish.

  • Doors: 2 x 700mm x 1900mm clear opening (c/o) anodised aluminium capped semi-rebate doors equipped with full Fermod furniture.

  • Shelving: Fermod 5611 shelving (460mm deep / 1800mm high) in a U-shape layout in both rooms.

  • Flooring: Insulated anti-slip reinforced trolley floors in both rooms.

Client Requirement

One of our shop-fitting customers has a consistent roll-out design to suit Spar’s requirements in their back-of-house storage areas. The design involves a chiller and freezer of equal size built and tailored to the Spar store’s daily usage, needing to be built to withstand the test of time at a high specification.

Scandia was able to use our manufacturing and design expertise to accurately replicate this consistent roll-out design and turn it into a high-quality product, delivering a durable, working back-of-house solution built to handle the rigorous daily demands of a busy retail environment.
