Type of Cold Room: Walk-in Chiller

A bespoke walk-in chiller room designed to quickly increase chilled storage capacity ahead of major sporting events.

Specifications

  • Dimensions: Chiller 2100mm x 1800mm x 2200mm

  • Insulation: 80mm PIR panels throughout.

  • Doors: 700mm x 1900mm clear opening (c/o) hinged, semi-rebated door featuring a strip curtain and a Fermod lockable handle.

  • Flooring: Pedestrian insulated floor.

  • Shelving: 4-tier, static free-standing wire, grey powder-coated shelving.

  • Refrigeration: Zanotti MGM107F monobloc unit.

Client Requirement

One of our top kitchen designer clients came to us due to the Oval Cricket Ground being in desperate need of a last-minute bespoke cold room in one of their kitchens. With several large events fast approaching, securing extra chilled storage space was critical to their catering operations.

Our Solution

Understanding the time-sensitive nature of the project, Scandia was called and arrived on site within 3 days for a full site consultation with our customer and their client. Moving with absolute urgency, the room was successfully designed, approved, manufactured, and installed within just 5 days from the initial survey – ensuring it was fully operational and ready in time for the ground’s upcoming events.
