Type of Cold Room: Domestic Walk-in Chiller

An elegant, custom-built domestic walk-in cold room designed to blend seamlessly into a high-end kitchen while providing practical, luxurious storage with zero visible external fixings.

Specifications

  • Dimensions: Walk-In Chiller 1840mm x 2310mm x 2350mm

  • Insulation & Finish: 80mm PIR insulation with an internal white food-safe finish.

  • Door & Frame: 732mm x 1916mm clear opening (c/o) hinged on a low-profile 36mm stainless-steel face frame. Features stainless steel pre-mitred reveals and a stainless steel wrapped 50mm PIR door.

  • Hardware: Fermod 466 chrome sprung-loaded hinges, Kason hydraulic dictator, and a premium stainless steel bar-handle.

  • Shelving: 1800mm high, 4-tier, static free-standing perforated stainless-steel shelving.

  • Refrigeration: TeCool E075H remote system with a low-profile evaporator.

  • Lighting: IP65 rated LED PIR sensor light.

Client Requirement

A retired couple in the countryside of Wisbech were building their dream home in which they desired a domestic, walk-in cold room, for both practicality and the added luxury.

Our Solution

We looked into the requirements of the chiller, and also the house itself, as one of the most important aspects of this finalised product was the aesthetics and how it blended into the finished kitchen. By providing various options from the outset in the form of documents and images, we then followed this with a site survey in which we finalised an elegant, high-specification chiller.

Due to the nature of the room, we used our manufacturing expertise to utilise stainless steel bar-handles, heavy-duty chrome self-closing hinges, and a Kason chrome dictator to eliminate the need for a catch, internal opening mechanism, and lock. Keeping in mind the food and drink being stored, we opted for perforated stainless steel shelving rather than more commercial wire to ensure the easy and safe storage of their food.

The end result was completed seamlessly from the external, with no visible fixings at all.
