- Refrigeration: Ceiling-mounted monobloc units (changed from the original wall-mounted arrangement), positioned above and out of the way.
- Storage Duties: +1°C to +4°C for pre-chilled goods; −18°C to −21°C for pre-frozen goods. Rooms intended for holding products already at their required storage temperature.
- Shelving & Lighting: Freestanding wire shelving adjusted to the smaller room dimensions, with LED lighting included in the package.
Client Requirement
Asda Subway Arbroath needed separate chilled and frozen storage as part of a store fit-out. The revised scope called for both rooms to be reduced in width and depth, with shelving adjusted to suit the smaller dimensions, and the refrigeration arrangement changed from wall-mounted to ceiling-mounted monobloc units.
Our Solution
These changes brought the room layout, shelving and refrigeration position into line with the revised requirements. For fit-out contractors and food retailers, this is a practical example of Scandia adapting the coldroom package as the project develops, using our in-house manufacturing and stock-holding to make on-the-go changes and adaptations to meet important deadlines. The result is a compact pair of storage rooms with separate access and equipment positioned above, out of the way.
