Specifications

  • Project Type: Supply and installation of a dual-compartment coldroom.
  • Panels: 80mm PIR insulated panels to both compartments.
  • Floors: Insulated floor with aluminium overlay to the freezer; floorless chiller retaining the building floor.
  • Shelving & Rails: Four-tier freestanding wire shelving, plus two 2.2m ceiling hanging rails.
  • Refrigeration: Complete remote systems: internal evaporators paired with weatherproof condensing units on brackets on the external rear brick wall.
  • Lighting: LED lighting to both compartments.

Client Requirement

For a butcher’s coldroom, the way products are stored matters as much as the room itself. Tariq Halal needed separate chilled and frozen storage with both shelf storage and a means of hanging product, with the refrigeration equipment kept out of the internal storage areas.

Our Solution

The installation provided separate chiller and freezer compartments, with four-tier wire shelving arranged around the room perimeter and two ceiling hanging rails adding a separate means of hanging products. Each compartment used a construction suited to its specified arrangement, and the condensing units were located outside on the rear brick wall, keeping that equipment separate from the internal storage areas. The project demonstrates how Scandia can bring the enclosure, refrigeration and internal storage fittings together in one package, considering chilled storage, frozen storage and product handling as part of the same design.
