Client Requirement
The ceiling profile was central to the design: the room needed to accommodate the changing headroom beneath the arch, with an entrance that avoided the swing space required by a hinged door in the corridor.
Our Solution
Scandia formed the coldroom with a shaped ceiling that followed the available space. The sliding door travels along the corridor wall, with the opening reveals flashed through to the coldroom interior. A slimline evaporator modified for wall mounting allowed the internal cooling equipment to be incorporated beneath the shaped ceiling. At Tramp, the enclosure, doorway and internal refrigeration arrangement were considered together, showing how Scandia can adapt a coldroom to a building’s geometry and access constraints.
